A Soldier's Welcome Home

Spanish Fork sure knows how to welcome home soldiers and show their support for our armed forces! Whenever someone comes home they have a parade down Main Street and then escort them home. For Family Home Evening on Monday we all made signs to put on the fire truck as well as on the house.


When they got into town we met them down at the beginning of Main Street and took pictures of them as they hopped on the fire truck.
It was FREEZING! It was only misting but it had been snowing all afternoon so I am sure it was freezing sitting up there!
The scoutmaster for the ward by my in-laws offered to line the street with flags. It was so awesome to see!
All of the EMT trucks, ambulances, and fire trucks followed the parade and had their sirens blaring the whole time! They even got their own police escorts! We followed them for a while on main street and got a video of them in their parade and all of the people running out of buildings and offices to see them and wave. Such an amazing experience!! There was a preschool too that had all the kids outside lined up and saluting and waving to Tyson. Makes me tear up just thinking about it!

Then when they turned off Main Street to take him home they stopped at the City Park and they had a line of old veterans out on the street saluting Tyson. So amazing...once again no pictures of that its all on the video!
Here they are finally getting home. People were driving by honking and waving and screaming out the window "Thanks for everything you did soldier" Trent's Dad is a Spanish Fork Fire Fighter so he go to drive this beauty that Tyson rode on.After the parade was over the local news station stopped by and interviewed Tyson.It was such an amazing thing to witness. I may not agree with the war but I am so proud of the men and women who sacrifice their lives and time to serve our country.

I just thought this picture was so sweet! Tyson was showing the kids a game on his phone and they were all engrossed in it!!
