We're Baaacckk!

This weekend we went down for a quick trip to Las Vegas to visit Tyson and Lauren and see their new place. There definitely wasn't enough time in the day to get everything done that we wanted to! Erika was really excited to go see 'Titon' and 'Larne' and kept asking if we were at their house the whole 5 hours it took to get down there! Here is a picture of Tyson teaching Erika how to play a game on the xbox 360:We of course had to get our fill of In-N-Out! Here is Erika enjoying my burger for me!We were planning on going to the Shark Reef but didn't find time so we went to the Bass Pro Shop instead and saw their free aquarium which was pretty cool. Erika loved it and only freaked out a couple times when the fish would swim right up alongside of the glass at her eye level! There was also a place where the boys could shoot fake guns at targets and so that kept the guys occupied for a while!We planned on going swimming on Saturday in order to help cool off so we went to Target and got Erika a new swimsuit since hers from last year doesn't fit so well anymore! We stocked up on beach towels and sunscreen and then headed back to their apartment to get ready to swim. Erika was so excited and kept asking "getting in the water now?" We got to the pool and saw that no one was there..SCORE! We had the pool to ourselves! We got all situated and stepped into the pool and it was like stepping in to a big tub of ice water...it was FREEEZING! Our legs turned purple sitting in there and it definitely wasn't relaxing! Erika wanted to get in and then would get in and then want right back out! So that was a total bust!

That night we went down to the strip so that we could walk around and eat dinner. At dinner our waitress completely ignored us and it took over an hour just to get our food to us. Its not easy for a 2 year old to sit still when she is hungry! Then we started walking down the strip and our first stop was the M& M store. Lauren said that they had a cute (and free!) movie you could watch on the third floor. So we made our way up only to find that it was closed for the night. We then walked down to the Bellagio to go see the water fountain. We got an awesome front row spot and waited for the show. Well when the show was suppose to start a voice came over the loud speaker and stated that the show had been cancelled because of the high winds.So we decided to keep walking to the Mirage to go see the fire show they have out front. So we walk more and get there to find out that its under construction..LAME! So we walk all the way back to the MGM to go see the lions and as we are walking up to the windows to see them the trainers come out and take the lions away and lock them up in the back for the night...what a total bust! At that point we decided just to call it a night and go get some ice cream at Coldstone by their apartment and then head home. We get to Coldstone and we are getting ready to order and they are out of like 1/2 of all their toppings. I ordered 4 different variations of ice cream and everytime I was met with the response of "Sorry we are out of brownies, ghiradelli carmel, heath bars, rasberries, strawberries, etc!" Finally I just gave up and settled for a nice can of sprite at the apartment! Everyone else found something that they could deal with eating. All in all our night didn't go so well!

Here is a picture of Erika and Trent (well Trent's legs...this was the only picture that didn't turn out blurry of both of them!) on the Merry-Go-Round at the outlet stores. She FREAKED out when Trent tried to put her on the horse. She is going to have to snap out of it before we go to the Boardwalk in May!Here is a picture of Erika on the way home. We let her pick out a bag of chips at the gas station in St. George and she was in heaven watching Peter Pan and eating all the chips she wanted without having to share with Mom and Dad!
On a side note...when we got home and were lugging all our junk upstairs I asked Erika to go put her potty away and halfway to the bathroom she must have really had to go because we turned around to see her using it in the middle of the hall! What a dork! I guess when you gotta go you gotta go no matter where you are at!
Thanks Tyson and Lauren for being the best hosts ever! They had their fridge all stocked with Pepsi, Sprite, bottled water and Apple Juice so we felt right at home! It was nice to take a break from Utah for a couple days and enjoy the warm weather and good company!
