Stitches

On Saturday April 7th we were just hanging out at Trent's parents house and the girls were playing around and running like usual. Lexi has these little puppets on her hands and were running around and she tripped over someone's feet and smacked her head on the 3 inches of metal on the computer chair. She instantly started screaming and was holding her head. We figured she was going to have a nasty bump on her head because she hit it pretty hard. When she removed her puppet hand from her face there was blood everywhere!

We got the bleeding to stop but realized it was pretty deep so we were off to the instacare. There was another little boy there who was getting stitches as well! They took us back and had a dr check it out. He decided to go ahead and put stitches in since it was right on the eyebrow line he was afraid that if we didn't do stitches that the scar tissue would make the cut bigger and she wouldn't grow an eyebrow in that spot. He said if it was a little boy he wouldn't have done stitches but he couldn't do that to a little girl!

She got some medicine to help numb her eyebrow and then laid there so very still! If you know Lexi you know this is out of character for her!

Then the doctor came in and quickly did a few stitches and we were done! She did so good and just laid there and didn't move a muscle or cry or flinch...anything! We were so proud of her. The boy in the next room didn't do as well. We could hear him screaming bloody murder the whole time! We had to keep a bandaid on it for at least the first 48 hours so Lexi informed us we needed to go buy some princess bandaids for her!

The first couple of days were rough. She kept touching it and pulling her bandaid off and pulling on the stitches! A week later we were able to go back to the instacare and have them check it out and get her stitches out! Almost a month later you can still see the purple line on her eyebrow but other than that she healed up really nicely!
