Busy Week for Erika

Last month Erika had one busy week with school where she had some project or something due almost everyday.On top of normal homework one day she had to memorize a nursery rhyme and then dress up as a character from the nursery rhyme. Can you guess who she is?!

She wanted to do Jack & Jill so we practiced the weeks leading up to the day the nursery rhyme and every time we got in the car I made her repeat it again and again. Then the night before I quickly sewed her a simple costume. When she came home that day she informed me that she should have done something else because lots of kids did Jack & Jill...oh well!

Then the next day they were having the kindergarten egg drop. Erika was in charge of creating something to put an egg in to drop off the roof of the kindergarten building. The person (or people) whose eggs didn't crack would win a prize. I racked her brain with ideas because I wanted her to do it not me. She told me she wanted something like the Up house with lots of balloons and a house for the egg to sit in. We made a house out of a pink cup and some cotton balls and then tied balloons to the cup. We did a test run with her standing on the couch and found that the egg would fall out so she stuffed more cotton balls in the cup and then taped the cup.

When she got home from school she informed us that she had won! Her and another little boy were the only ones that eggs didn't break! She said her favorite was one of her friends who put her egg inside a huge jello jiggler. She said the egg smashed and the jello went flying everywhere!
