That week we decided to go to the Sacramento Zoo. It was a nice cool 96 degrees on the day we decided to go! It was a good thing that most of the Zoo was shady! Here are the girls with my Mom before we left:
Erika's favorite was the monkeys and the kitty cats (tigers). We had to walk around and see them twice!
Here we are right before we stopped to eat the lunch we packed. Erika is a little grumpy because we were looking at the birds and she wanted to go back to the monkeys!
Before we left we sat down for a little animal show. Erika and I sat on the front row and she was in heaven. After the show they brought out a couple of the animals for people to take pictures with and pet. Erika ran right up to the snake and lizard and started petting them!! Totally shocked me. I thought she would have freaked out! I had to pull her away from them and tell her to stop petting them when it was time for the animals to go back! 
When we went back to see the monkeys one last time we were standing next to a girl eating a banana and the ape came over the the edge of the lawn and started holding out its hand. She started breaking off her pieces of the banana and throwing it to him. It was so cute to see him chase after the pieces and them come back and hold out his hand again! You are not suppose to feed the animals but it was fun to see her do it!!

The night before we went to the Zoo my Dad and I went online to Craigslist and found a stroller for Alexis to ride it. Nobody wanted to have to carry around my little sweet cheeks in 96 degree weather for 4 hours! It was a lifesaver. The best $15 ever spent!
My Mom got Alexis out of the stroller and carried her through out the reptile exhibit. It was nice and air conditioned in there and it felt so good!

Erika reminds me of Steve Erwin in some of those pictures with her little hat on and rubbing up on all those animals! But of course, she reminds me of him in a completely cute and not creepy sort of way!
