Party Time

On Saturday the 6th we celebrated both of the girls birthdays. My parents and brother Kyle were able to get super cheap flights up for that weekend so we decided to celebrate early. Hey you don't have to ask Erika twice if she wants to celebrate her birthday a week early! We will still do something as a family on her actual birthday as well so she will love that!! This years theme was cupcakes so we had lots of mini cupcakes, cupcake pops, and extra large cupcakes!Everyone got to take home a couple pops and then a little box of these as well
My parents came over that morning and helped cook food and run errands! They were so much help I don't know what I would have done without them since once person had to be holding Lexi at all times! While they were there Erika conned them into opening one of their presents early. She was so excited to get her own "sipinputer" don't ask me why she pronounces computer that way but she does!Here are some more decorations and the food table...before all the food got on it!!It has turned into a tradition to make homemade enchiladas and serve them at the girls birthday. It started with Erika's first birthday and has been done ever since then so we couldn't stop the tradition now!The little kiddo table. Erika had asked all day every 15 minutes if she could open up her presents yet. Making a 4 year old wait all day to open up presents is torture...as you can see on her face here!Finally it's present time!! She and her sister both got matching Easter dresses with sweaters, tights, even little gloves from their Great Grandma & Grandpa. She got another "sipinputer"...this one is a Barbie pink one!She got her own set of chairs and table with princesses on them!
Now its Lexi's turn to open!She actually had fun sticking her head in the bag and pulling out everything inside of them! By the last present she actually had the hang of ripping of the wrapping paper too!Checkin out her new music station:I think ripping the paper and clothes out of the bags was her favorite part!This poor little girl was not happy all day long and just wanted to be held so when we put her down so that she could play in her cake she was not having it. She kept crawling back over to me and wanting me to pick her up. Poor thing...we will have to try this again on her real birthday. Hopefully we will get a better reaction then!We couldn't waste the cake so Trent helped Erika and Oakley "smell" the frosting!Erika blowing out the candles...I still can't believe my little baby is going to be 4!Erika also got this Princess dance step thing and Oakley was sad because there wasn't room on the dance mat for him to dance too with the girls!Later Trent helped Erika learn how to do the dance steps correctly! What a good Dad!I also started the tradition of making a DVD slideshow of the girls first years to show at their first birthday party. So I put one together and showed it after presents and cake to everyone. Of course it brought tears to my eyes...my babies are growing up way too fast! I'll post it here later for people to see.

After everyone left we set up the table for her and she stacked up boxes on a chair so that her baby could sit at the table with her!And this is how Alexis ended the night...poor baby..what a miserable first birthday party!Sunday we had our next big party. We had everyone come over again for the Superbowl. We had TONS of food, snacks, drinks, you name it! In this picture you can't even see the chicken wings and other appetizers and desserts that were on the counter by the stove!!Erika had her share of cupcake pops during the game!And Lexi did too! I kept her from screaming so hey why not!
Thanks to everyone who came over and celebrated with us. We feel so blessed to have such an amazing family!
