Labor Day Camping

This last weekend we headed up the canyon for our annual Labor Day camping party! There are a bunch of families that all go to the same place so it is fun to get up there! There are about 20 kids under 6 so it makes it LOADS of fun for all the kids! They play and get along so well together it is amazing! Friday night we got up there late because we had to hit up Erika's soccer game first. Once we got up there it was time to sit by the fire for a little while and then go to bed!

That night there was a terrible rainstorm. I have never heard it come down so hard before and the thunder and lightening were insane! It seriously sounded like the lightening was touching down right outside our trailer! Trent and I were both woken up by the racket and were talking about the days we used to camp in weather like that in a tent and how grateful we were to have a trailer so we could stay nice and dry! While we talked about the weather Lexi slept like this! Sometimes it's rough being three!

The next day it rained off and on but it wasn't very cold. We just had everyone put up there ez-up canopies and we tied them all together so we could have alot of covered area to sit under! The kids weren't phased by the weather and had fun playing all day long!

Erika LOVES turtles and has been begging us to get her one. Lynsey brought hers up so Erika had fun holding it. It was so tiny! I wouldn't mind something that little in a cage on Erika's dresser!

 Almost all day long there was a line at this swing that was made. The kids would BEG the adults to come push them high! Erika had fun trying to do all sorts of tricks and see how far back she could lean!

Lexi loved the swing too as long as she didn't go too high or spin!

We made sure to take breaks in between all that playing to eat snacks of course. "What Mom is there something on my face!" You can tell she took the cup of puppy chow (aka Muddy Buddies) and tipped it right up to her mouth and it left a powdered sugar ring around her face!

The kids would go down to the river with and adult and would catch all sorts of fish and snakes to be passed around for everyone to see!

While the kids ran around in circles Riley had fun sitting in this cute little pink chair! She is such a cutie!

When the rain stopped we got her toys out for her so she could walk around and play too! Every time you say cheese you get the biggest smile and grin from her!

These two crazy girls are 6 months apart and are so alike its scary! They are trouble but oh so much fun. It's hilarious to just sit and listen to them talk to each other! This picture is from when I caught them taking Riley on a walk to see the train tracks!

Late Saturday afternoon the weather cleared up and the sun came out! It was so nice! That night we were able to sit around and enjoy the fire! This is a picture that night from Riley. This is how she rolls when she is ready for bed. Her pacifier stuck on her finger and the other hand propping up a bottle...hilarious!

On Sunday we went down for church and then hurried back up the canyon to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather! Lexi has been begging us for months to fix the tires on her bike so she could learn how to ride it so we finally did up the canyon. She had a blast riding around the loop in the campground! The only problem is every time she turns she thinks she has to turn really sharp so she tips the bike over.

Erika tried out skateboarding while we were there. It's a good thing she had on a helmet! She was on the ground more than she was on the board!

 This little munchkin helped everyone finish off their bags of cheetos after lunch!

This is probably only 1/3 of all the toys we had lined up in front of our campsite! There were bikes, scooters, wagons, sidewalk chalk, you name it all spread out all over the road!

Brad came up the canyon for lunch and dinner on Sunday which was nice! I love having someone from my family live close by!! He took the two older girls for a ride in the bike trailer (it's a good work out I tell you!)

Of course he had to take his turn on the swing too!

Let me tell you the swing was definitely the hit of the weekend! Erika loved it!

Lexi made sure to sneak in a ride or two on the swing too when the line wasn't too long!

I love this picture of Riley on a walk with her Papa! Now that she can walk she LOVES to go on walks and explore!

 On Monday the kids took a break from the swing and riding bikes to color for a little while

 While they colored Riley sat in her car and played with her baby!

While the adults cleaned up camp on Monday the kids made mud pies and played in the water! It's amazing how much time they can spend in the dirt playing with just a plastic cup and spoon!

It was such a fun weekend and I hate that summer is practically over! Hopefully we can get in one more camping trip before the snow comes!
