Trick or Treat

This year for Halloween we had our day all planned out. On Friday night a car dealership in town was having its first annual Trunk-or-Treat from 7-9pm. Erika was so excited to wear her costume that we were dressed and ready about an hour before it started so we got there at exactly 7pm! We went in and got our punch card and started to walk around the car lot to the cars that were marked with balloons. At the first car we realized that they were handing out full size candy bars...SCORE! We started racing around to each of the cars and seriously within 15 minutes the whole place ran out of candy! They started to close the trunks of the cars and tell people that there was plenty of hot chocolate and donuts if they wanted to still hang out! We were back home by 7:30! We scored a ton of candy though in those few short minutes! Here is what Erika scored:On Saturday morning we woke up and I made orange french toast with a pumpkin face on them for us to eat!After breakfast was over we got all dressed up and headed out. This year for Halloween Erika was Belle (again!) and Lexi was a BYU Cheerleader. We went down to the Trunk-or-Treat by Trent's parents house and scored a ton of candy and had a nice hot dog lunch. It only took Lexi a couple of seconds to catch on to how it all worked and she was in HEAVEN!We made the kids take a break from getting candy to scarf down a hot dog. Watch out Papa....Lexi will still your chips while you are smiling for pictures!Erika & Alexis with their cousins Harley & Oakley who were dressed as Iron Man and Iron GirlLexi wanted to shove all of her candy in her mouth 2 seconds after she got it!My pretty pretty little princess! Erika was so nice and would share bites of her candy with her sister!Towards the end of the Trunk-or-Treat it started to get really cloudy and windy. We headed down to Main Street though. All of the businesses on Main St. in our town hand out candy for a couple hours. The girls had fun going down the road collecting candy. One business even handed out nice canvas Dr. Seuss bags for each kid!

Right after we got done with that it started to POUR down rain. Nice weather for Halloween! We went home and Lexi took a nap and we had some dinner and then we headed to a Halloween Carnival at our Church. Both of the girls had fun playing all the games and getting candy!After the carnival was over it was still raining a little so we decided just to take the girls to a couple houses of friends and family so they could do some door to door trick or treating. After a little while the weather cleared up so we hit a neighborhood and went to a couple more houses.

Both girls had so much fun and loved running door to door! I was out of breath chasing them down the street! Of course when we got home we had to do our tradition of dumping out each girls candy on the floor and then getting a picture of them with it!Erika was in heaven and kept picking up candy and saying "oh these are my favorite" and then "oh no these are my favorite"Lexi on the other hand couldn't keep her hands OFF the candy. She was shoveling smarties and suckers in her mouth by the handfuls!Even after we got her changed into her pajamas she still couldn't keep her hands off it!It was a fun couple of festive days! Now on to Thanksgiving!!
